Digimon: The Movie

Digimon: The Catastrophe Movie, released October 6, 2000 in US theaters, is an English-dubbed mashup of three Digimon films: Digimon Adventure, Our War Game, and Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Landing Transcendent Evolution The Golden Digimentals Electric Boogaloo The Melancholy of Haruhi Kari Kamiya.

Wanting to capitalize on the success of Pokémon: The Movie, Fox rushed this film to production. Writers including Bob Buchholz and Jeff Nimoy, who had written the dub scripts for most episodes of Digimon Adventure and Zero-Two, were under orders to combine all three movies into a single narrative, though they had only planned to incorporate the first two. The result was a complete disaster with a thinly linked set of three plots, significant cuts, and nonsensical dialogue. Additionally, the terrifying Angela Anaconda was cut into the movie as a pre-movie short, but said short remained part of the film even on DVD releases. The executive meddling in this film and in the dubbing of Digimon Zero-Two led Buchholz and Nimoy to leave the series for a time.
